Fiddles and Food Trucks in support of Stratford Summer Music …where all roads lead to music.

At the end of Kelly’s Lane in Stratford, is a beautiful farm with an old stone house and a barn set on acres of corn fields. It is at this idyllic location that we have invited Maggie’s Wake to fire up their fiddles! On-site will be Ken’s Fries and Jonny’s vintage beer truck pouring house made craft selections. Lady Glaze Donuts will be serving milk shakes and sinfully delicious donuts. Our host, Mayor Martin Ritsma, will be our onsite grill master and Pelee Island winery has generously stocked our wine bar. These year we will be offering some incredible raffle prizes including a full 2024 SSM Season Pass! We will launch a small but mighty live auction with unique items and experiences. There will be instagrammable moments galore and all in support of bringing quality music to Stratford.

This coming fall, we hope you will join us for the second annual “toe-tapping, barn-raising” event in Support of Stratford Summer Music. We encourage you to bring new faces to our Stratford music community and old friends to share in the fun!

Carpooling encouraged. Limited parking along the corn field. Please bring cash for the raffle!

Concert seating will be provided in the barn. Please dress for a casual cool fall night, rain or shine event.

Your ticket includes 2 x food tickets, 2 x bar tickets and a tax receipt for the maximum allowable amount according to Revenue Canada.

Maggie’s Wake is a Canadian roots band that combines traditional Celtic instrumentation with a contemporary approach.  This exciting collaboration between Rant Maggie Rant co-founder Lindsay Schindler (fiddle, vocals) and Tara Dunphy (tin whistle, flute, fiddle, vocals), lead singer and songwriter of acclaimed country outfit, The Rizdales, is quite simply, a match made in heaven.

United in their passion for fiery tunes, soaring vocals with rich harmonies, meaningful stories and beautiful melodies, Lindsay and Tara embrace their wide ranging influences and have built an exciting, new sound. From traditional celtic to cajun, early jazz to latin rhythms, Maggie’s Wake is making musical discoveries at every turn, constantly building on the foundation of the music that  inspires them.

I booked the event on a whim and it exceeded expectations! It was a lovely venue with a warm welcome from the organizers. I confess I have never eaten poutine so that was fun and filling. The auctioneer was fascinating to watch and added great drama to the night. And the music! It was so lovely- an innovative mix of lively traditional and sweet beauty. I’m so glad I was able to be there.  – Valerie McDonald

That was one of the best fundraisers we’ve been to in Stratford since we got here. Congratulations! – Rick Matthews

Thank you for including us in the Fiddles and Food evening. We thought the whole thing was great! The Fretless were so capable, as well. Beautiful. Please pass along our good wishes to the Team. – Brenda Cane Blackwell

What a great event… we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.  It was so well organized, and the venue was fantastic….and all for a great cause! Hope that this is the first of an annual event.  We would love to come back next year. – Susan Fincher-Stoll

What a great evening with SSM.  We saw so many people we haven’t crossed trails with recently – social success.  Food and drink was abundant and tasty – sustenance success.   Loved the Fretless – commonality of music success. Thanks to everyone for the considerable effort of staging a wonderful event for such a worthwhile cause. – Laurel McIntosh

An entirely enjoyable evening and great that the wine raised a significant contribution. Congratulations on a successful event – specially reflected in so many new — and younger — faces. – Ray Harsant
