Board Director, Stratford Summer Music

Stratford Summer Music is a project of the Stratford Arts Foundation, a non-profit charitable organization.  Charitable Registration #RR001-87819-7417.

The Board of Directors of Stratford Summer Music is currently inviting submissions from qualified individuals interested in serving as a Volunteer Member of the Board of Directors. We will have openings for four individuals who have expertise in one or more of the following areas:  Finance, Accounting, Legal, Fund Development and the Corporate Sector.

The three year term of office, which is renewable, will commence as of the Annual General Meeting in March.

Directors are expected to attend monthly Board meetings (10 per year) either in person in our Stratford office or by teleconference, and participate on one Board subcommittee (Fund Development, Marketing and Audience Development).  This is a volunteer position.

The Mission for Stratford Summer Music is to stage an annual festival of diverse musical and educational experiences for both regional and wider audiences, to celebrate music in its many manifestations and to enhance the reputation of the Stratford region as a home for all the arts.

Marketing Coordinator/Fundraising Assistant

Part Time 21 hours per week, Beginning May 21th to August 21st, 2022

Working with the General Manager and Administrator, the incumbent will be knowledgeable in the marketing of the arts via radio, print and social media.  Collaborating with the Graphic Design team, the Coordinator will arrange for the creation and booking of ads, tracking budgets and providing timely updates on campaigns. For print campaigns, the Coordinator will arrange for timely distribution of materials. The Marketing Coordinator will proactively seek new venues to advertise, creating partnerships and marketing exchanges as appropriate.  

The Coordinator will also assist with Fundraising, providing updates on sponsors and donors and managing request campaigns. 

Excellent communication and organization skills are required with a keen eye for detail and a collaborative team approach. All members of Stratford Summer Music are front line customer service providers and may be asked to assist with other duties as required.

Rate: $20-22 per hour

Production Coordinator

Part Time beginning May 30th at 10 to 15 hours per week, Full Time June 27th to August 19th, 2022.  

The candidate is the Coordinator of a team responsible for carrying out the presentation of live music events at various venues throughout the festival.  They are responsible for assessing sound, lighting and stage equipment needs, ordering required materials and liaising with artists to ensure appropriately supported events.  A strong knowledge of sound equipment and mixing is required for the position as well as good time management and scheduling skills and the ability to think quickly.  A valid driver’s license and clean driving record is required.   

Rate: $18-22 per hour

Audio Technician

Two positions Part time beginning week of June 20th, Full Time June 28th to August 16th, 2022. 

The position will ensure the proper sound reproduction for a variety of musical acts in a multi-week festival in several different venues.  Loading in equipment, setting audio levels, assisting artists with instrument load in and performing sound checks, as well as mixing the sound levels after suitable training are all a part of the position.  A valid driver’s license and clean driving record are preferred.  

Rate: $16-21 per hour

Box Office/Marketing/Administrative Assistant

Part Time beginning June 7th, Full Time June 21st to August 16th, 2022.

The incumbent will be selling event tickets to patrons over the telephone, online and at events. Customer service tasks including answering patron questions regarding performances, details about venues and performing artists will be included in the position.  The student may be required to provide information on other events in the area and act in a tourist services role, advising on accommodations and restaurants in the area.  The position handles merchandise sales at events.  The candidate must have excellent communication skills and a strong general knowledge of Stratford and area.  Under the direction of the Administrator and General Manager the candidate will assist with social media posting and updating information on the website as necessary. 

Rate: $16-$18 per hour

Artists' Services Coordinator

Part Time beginning June 7th, Full Time June 21st to August 16th, 2022

Working alongside the Artistic Director and Administrator, this position is involved with the hospitality and administration of visiting artists and students in the Academy.  The position will welcome artists, ensure their accommodation and hospitality needs are met, liaise with the production department to arrange rehearsal and back stage management.  The job requires a strong knowledge of Stratford and excellent communications and time management skills. As education program coordinator the incumbent will liaise with the Academy directors to facilitate rehearsals and performance for students.  This may include opening rehearsal halls, providing hospitality, booking rooms, providing transportation and scheduling rehearsals. A valid driver’s license is required for this position. 

Rate: $15-$16 per hour

Coordinator of Volunteers/Administrative and Marketing Assistant

Part time week of June 28th,  Full Time July 5th to August 14th.

Working with the Arts Administrator, Production Coordinator and Box Office services, the Coordinator of Volunteers will coordinate youth and adult volunteers.  They will work to ensure sufficient staffing, thoughtful deployment and meaningful interaction between volunteers, patrons and staff.  They will assist with patrons services, providing box office, and front of house services at all venue and additional programming for youth when appropriate. This position will collaborate with Springworks~Puppetworks on World in a Weekend programming. 

$15 per hour
