2019 Musical Lottery

The lucky winner of our trip to Newfoundland is Allison Kissner! Thank you all for participating and supporting Stratford Summer Music.

Newfoundland is where the sun rises first and where Vikings landed over 1000 years ago. Home to the oldest European settlement and one of the oldest cities in North America, but a province of Canada for barely 70 years. A vast land, with a small population, Newfoundland and Labrador has some of the friendliest people you’ll ever meet. There, you can experience solitary wilderness one day and immerse yourself in vibrant culture the next. A land of rich history and natural wonders: stunning coastlines, breaching whales, icebergs, and the most incredible skyscapes imaginable.

You will travel over 1000 km starting at Gros Morne National Park, a UNESCO world heritage site with long range mountains spanning the western coast. While in Gros Morne, you will take a boat cruise on Bonne Bay and visit the Lobster Cover Lighthouse. Travelling across the island you will spend 2 nights in Gander where you will be welcomed in true Come From Away form! Early to bed so you can rise with the sun on a quest for icebergs in the alley at Twillingate. Reward your adventures with lunch and wine tour of the Auk Island winery. You will then immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the Rock with hikes in Terra Nova National Park and an ecological nature cruise to the largest puffin colony in North America! The final two days will be spent in and around St. John’s with a drive up to Signal Hill for a magnificent view of the town and harbour, a visit to the Rooms, with its extensive collection of artifacts and art and a night to explore the restaurants and live music venues in the hub of St. John’s.

Thanks to Blowes Travel, you will enjoy 8 nights accommodation, 2 round trip WestJet flights (Toronto to Deer Lake; St. John’s to Toronto), 2× round trip airport transfers from southwestern Ontario to Pearson International, motor coach while on tour, 8 breakfasts, 3 lunches and 4 dinners, admissions to parks, centres and museums, gratuities and a personal tour manager. Draw to be held on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at 12 noon at 20 York Street near the MusicBarge. Only 200 tickets will be available at $100 per ticket. All proceeds go toward supporting the music and activities of Stratford Summer Music.
