Join the vibrant team at the Stratford Summer Music Festival as a Volunteer Usher and play a vital role in enhancing the guest experience. As an Usher, you will be the friendly face that guides attendees to their seats, ensures a smooth flow of traffic, and helps create a welcoming atmosphere throughout the festival.
Responsibilities:
Guest Assistance: Greet festival-goers with a warm and helpful attitude. Direct attendees to their designated seating areas, ensuring they feel welcomed and informed.
Event Flow: Help maintain order in the venue by ensuring that guests enter and exit in an orderly manner, especially before and after performances.
Information Provider: Assist with answering general questions about the festival schedule, venue layout, and amenities (e.g., restrooms, concessions, emergency exits)
Crowd Management: Ensure the safety of attendees by monitoring entrances and exits, guiding patrons during high-traffic periods, and responding to emergencies calmly and efficiently.
Assist with Accessibility: Help guests with special needs by guiding them to accessible seating or other accommodations.
Support Festival Operations: Work alongside other volunteers and staff to ensure the event runs smoothly, including supporting the setup and breakdown of seating when necessary.
Requirements:
A positive, friendly attitude and excellent communication skills.
Ability to stand for extended periods and walk around the venue.
Comfortable handling a variety of situations with patience and professionalism.
No prior experience required, though an interest in the arts is a plus!

Become an essential part of the Stratford Summer Music Festival as an Artist Billet Volunteer and provide a warm, welcoming experience for the talented musicians and performers who make the festival come alive. As an Artist Billet, you’ll help ensure our artists are comfortable, well supported, and ready to deliver unforgettable performances.
Responsibilities:
Host Artist Accommodations: Provide a safe and comfortable place for artists to stay during the festival. This may include offering a guest room or space for the artist to rest between performances.
Transportation Assistance: Help coordinate or provide transportation for artists to and from festival venues, including pick-up/drop-off for rehearsals, performances, and other festival events.
Provide Local Support: Assist artists with any local needs, such as finding grocery stores, restaurants, or other amenities they may require during their stay.
Cultural Ambassador: Share your knowledge of Stratford’s arts scene, history, and local attractions, helping artists feel connected to the community during their time at the festival.
Communication Liaison: Act as a point of contact between the artists and festival staff to relay any important updates, schedule changes, or requests.
Requirements:
A friendly, reliable, and welcoming attitude with a passion for the arts.
A clean, comfortable space for the artist to stay (if hosting in your home).
A flexible, open schedule to accommodate artist(s) needs.
Willingness to get a Vulnerable Sector Check, depending on the festival’s needs.
Reliable transportation is a plus.

Help shape the future of Stratford Summer Music by becoming a Volunteer Surveyor! As a Surveyor, you’ll gather valuable feedback from festival goers to help us improve our event year after year. The data you collect will provide valuable insights that directly impact on the administration of the festival, ensuring it continues to grow and evolve in response to our audience’s needs.
Responsibilities:
Survey Distribution: Approach festival goers in a friendly and professional manner to collect their opinions through surveys. This can include both in-person and digital surveys.
Engage Attendees: Encourage attendees to share their thoughts on aspects such as performances, festival planning, amenities, and overall experience.
Data Collection: Accurately record responses and ensure that survey data is collected in a clear, organized manner for review by the festival team.
Provide Information: Answer any questions about the survey process and help attendees feel comfortable providing feedback.
Track Responses: Help track how many surveys have been completed and remind attendees to participate when necessary.
Requirements:
A positive, outgoing attitude with strong communication skills.
Ability to engage with a wide variety of people and encourage participation.
Attention to detail and ability to accurately record information.
Comfortable working in a busy festival environment with a focus on customer service.
Experience with surveys or data collection is helpful but not required.

Join the energetic team behind the bar at Stratford Summer Music Festival as a Volunteer Bartender! You’ll be at the heart of the action, serving refreshing beverages to festival-goers and helping create a vibrant, fun atmosphere for all attendees. This role is perfect for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and want to be part of the festival experience.
Responsibilities:
Serve Drinks: Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to festival attendees, ensuring quality and accuracy in all orders.
Maintain a Safe Environment: Check IDs to ensure guests are of legal drinking age and monitor alcohol consumption to promote responsible drinking.
Customer Service: Provide friendly and efficient service to all festival-goers, answering questions about drink options and making recommendations when needed.
Stock Management: Assist with stocking and replenishing supplies, ensuring the bar area remains organized and well-stocked throughout the event.
Cash Handling: Accurately process drink orders and handle cash or card payments as required.
Cleanliness & Safety: Keep the bar area clean and tidy, including wiping down counters and cleaning glasses, while adhering to health and safety standards.
Team Support: Work collaboratively with fellow bartenders, volunteers, and festival staff to ensure smooth operations.
Requirements:
A friendly and approachable attitude with a passion for providing excellent customer service.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
Basic knowledge of alcoholic beverages and drink preparation (SMART Serve) or willingness to complete SMART Serve training
Must be 18 years or older.
Previous bartending experience is a plus, but not required.
