RAFFLE TICKETS ON SALE NOW! Two fortunate travellers will fly with First Air to Iqaluit, capital of Nunavut, via Ottawa, to begin seven days in the vast, beautiful territory which the Inuit call “Our Land”. Then it’s off to Cape Dorset – the unique northern community on Hudson Strait that boasts the highest ratio of creative citizens anywhere in Canada – to spend four days immersed in the culture, geography and traditions of this region. Meet artists and elders, attend a cultural gathering with throat singers, visit the West Baffin Eskimo Co-Operative where the world-famous Inuit prints have been produced since the 1950s. The journey includes return flights (Toronto or Ottawa/Cape Dorset), accommodation, hosting by Inuk specialists in each site, and all meals in Dorset for two people. Additionally, before departure, the winner is invited to choose a work by a contemporary Inuit artist – sculpture, stone-cut print or drawing – up to a value of $2000 and then to meet that artist in Cape Dorset.
