Rachelle Shubert is a Canadian singer, a new resident of Stratford and a visual artist. Her life as a music composer and performer informs the emotional tone of her expressionistic paintings.
Rachelle's artistic practice is informed by dreamlike imagery that reveals our shared humanity and courage to resist oppression. In this interactive workshop, we invite you to join Rachelle and to sing for your health!
Rachelle has sung professionally for over thirty years, performing jazz, classical, folk and original compositions. Over the course of her career, she has conducted choirs and directed concert series. For fifteen years Rachelle was Music Director and Cantorial Soloist for a Montréal synagogue, where she became known for her warm musical style and innovative programming. In 1999 she founded a vibrant Montréal community choir that she directed until leaving the city in 2014. Rachelle continues to encourage singing as a means to connect with our inner selves and to build community.
