Stratford Summer Music

Blind Boys of Alabama

There have only been a few nights like July 23, 2015, when The Blind Boys of Alabama captivated Stratford!  That’s why, as he planned his final year leading Stratford Summer Music, our Artistic Producer, John Miller, especially issued an invitation to these gentlemen of song…and they accepted!

The Blind Boys of Alabama are recognized worldwide as living legends of gospel music. Inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame and winners of five Grammys, they have attained the highest levels of achievement in a career that spans over 70 years. Known for their remarkable interpretations of everything from traditional gospel favourites to contemporary spiritual material, The Blind Boys have sung the songs of Eric Clapton, Prince and Tom Waits, shared recordings with artists like Lou Reed, Peter Gabriel, Bonnie Raitt and Willie Nelson, and appeared on Late Night with David Letterman, The Grammy Awards and 60 Minutes.

But for one night only – Monday, July 30 – they’ll again be ours in Stratford.  Don’t miss an evening with these gentlemen of grace and faith.  We guarantee you’ll be shouting Hallelujah!
