The Great Canadian Jazz Finale

Featuring Order of Canada Musicians

& The Yamaha Canada Big Band

There is Jazz...there is Great Jazz...and then there is August 27, an I’ll Never Forget That Jazz event!

Seven Canadian legends, all holders of the Order of Canada, take to the stage, led by trumpeter Jens Lindemann and pianist Senator Tommy Banks, with Guido Basso on flugel horn, drummer Terry Clarke, accordionist Joseph Macerollo, P. J. Perry on saxophone and Dave Young on bass.   Expect to hear a wide range of great jazz standards by Duke Ellington, George Gershwin, Fats Waller, Louis Armstrong and Nat King Cole.  Then the Yamaha Canada Big Band joins in for a 20-piece jazz orchestra and a set that features Oscar Peterson’s Canadiana Suite, orchestrated for Big Band by Phil Nimmons.

What a finale to our seventeenth season!
